This article introduces your two ClinicMonk™ dashboards — what each one answers, where the numbers come from, and the few things worth knowing before you read either of them.
Each dashboard is covered in detail in its own article.
Where to find them
Click Dashboard in the left sidebar. The dropdown at the top left switches between the two.
The two dashboards
Practice Growth answers how well your practice converts the inquiries it already gets. How many people reached out, how they reached out, how many booked a consult, how many turned up, and how many became clients.
Digital Marketing & Referrals answers where those inquiries came from, and what your advertising is buying you. Which channels bring leads, which bring clients, and what a client costs you.
They're meant to be read in that order. There's little point spending more on marketing until the practice converts well what it already receives — more inquiries into a leaky funnel just means more people who don't book.
Set the date range first
Both dashboards have a date range at the top right, and every number on the page is calculated for whatever period is selected. Today, last week, last month, a quarter, or a custom range.
Make it the first thing you touch. A figure that looks alarming or excellent usually just belongs to a different window than the one you had in mind.
For most decisions, look at a quarter rather than a month. Practices have quiet weeks and busy ones, and a single slow fortnight can look like a collapse. Anything you'd act on — hiring, ad budget, taking on more space — deserves a 90-day view.
Where the numbers come from
Everything on both dashboards is built from your Client Journey pipeline. There's no separate reporting system keeping its own record — the dashboards are your pipeline, counted.
That has a consequence worth taking seriously. The parts of ClinicMonk™ that depend on somebody marking something are the parts that decide whether these numbers are true. If consult appointments aren't marked Showed or No Show, your show rate is wrong. If leads who became clients are never marked Won, your conversion rate is wrong, and so is every figure about which marketing works.
The dashboards are only ever as honest as the pipeline underneath them.
What you'll see at first
A new account has nothing to count, so both dashboards will look empty — zeroes, and tiles reading No data found. Nothing is broken. They fill as your practice runs.
Separately, the Google Ads tiles on the Digital Marketing & Referrals dashboard need your ad account connected before they can show anything. Until that's done they'll say so on the tile itself.
Reading them well
A dashboard is only useful if it changes something. Two habits make that likelier.
Look at the same window each time. Comparing this month to last month tells you something. Comparing this month to a random six weeks tells you nothing.
Follow a number to the thing it describes. Every figure here is a real count of real people who contacted your practice. A show rate that dropped is a group of people who booked a call and didn't come — and the reason is usually findable.
