Before your clinic can send text messages from ClinicMonk™, phone carriers review your website as part of text messaging registration (called A2P 10DLC). One thing they check is that your website has a privacy policy with specific wording about text messages.

To make this easier, we've put together a sample privacy policy that already includes the required text messaging wording.

Important: Sample for reference only

This sample is provided for general information about text messaging registration requirements. It is not legal advice or a complete privacy policy for your practice.

ClinicMonk™ does not guarantee that this sample is accurate, complete, current, or suitable for your practice, or that using it will meet applicable privacy laws or result in carrier approval.

Before using or publishing any part of this sample, have your own lawyer review and adapt it to your practice’s services, data handling, and legal requirements. Your practice is responsible for its privacy policy and compliance with applicable laws.

How to use it

  1. Open the sample and click File > Make a copy, so you have your own version to edit.

  2. Replace every item in double curly brackets, (for example your clinic name, phone number and email address) with your clinic's details. Use the same business name, phone number and email address you used for your text messaging registration.

  3. Keep the "SMS Data Protection Statement" section exactly as written. Carriers look for this exact wording.

  4. Add the policy to your website as its own page. Then link to it in your website footer and under your contact form.

Important

This is a sample only. It includes the wording carriers ask for, but it is not a complete privacy policy for a clinic. Have your own lawyer or privacy advisor review it before you publish it, so it also meets the privacy laws that apply to your practice (for example, HIPAA in the United States, or PHIPA and PIPEDA in Canada).
